Paul Webb works in mixed media — concrete, plaster and heavy-body acrylics — building each piece over weeks of additive and subtractive layers until history shows in the texture.
His abstract and figurative works are held in private collections across Australia and abroad, and every piece is made to expand the space it enters.

From corporate to concrete
I recently left behind my corporate job of 20 years. While I loved the problem-solving and people, I was craving the opportunity to explore my creativity, indulge in my passion for colour, and get my hands dirty playing with the raw beauty of concrete.
I am a firm believer that life is not black and white and my wish is to inject warmth and vitality into people's daily spaces. I have always been obsessed with the colour orange — perhaps a subconscious response to growing up in a cold city and craving warmth.
I love how colour changes the way we perceive space and dimension. When you want a small room to seem bigger you paint the walls light and let the light stream in. Conversely, deep textured works command attention and transform the scale of a room.
It's fair to say my art is not designed to make a space feel smaller.
